NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Thomas Gojkovich

Out of college, I didn’t know a thing about power tools. I didn’t even know how to put a drill in forward or reverse. Fast forward a few years and I’ve sold over 10,000 woodworking plans and share my passion for building on my YouTube channel, Thomas Custom Woodworks (complete with the occasional...okay, constant, dad joke).

Along the way, I’ve learned that woodworking doesn’t need to be complicated or intimidating. The key is knowing the essential tools and avoiding common mistakes. That’s why I created Master Your Power Tools, a digital course that teaches you how to confidently use the seven most common power tools in woodworking: circular saw, miter saw, drill & impact driver, jigsaw, router, random orbital sander, and table saw. I believe everyone can make and build things, and I love helping people unlock that ability.

My workshop, a cozy 198-square-foot garage space (not 200) is a place for fun, creativity, and efficient woodworking. It is complete with space-saving furniture solutions I’ve designed myself. I am hopeful that my 2 daughters will one day join me in the shop (the 2 cats, not so much as I dont think they would be much help).

Teaching people to create things out of wood is what drives me. I can’t wait to help you turn wood, tools, and ideas into something amazing.

Why I Do It

Simply put, I love helping people create amazing, beautiful things out of wood. I know that a lot of people are nervous using power tools so if I can help them gain confidence and knowledge around tools they will be able to build whatever they imagine. I didn't grow up woodworking. In fact, I didn't want any part of using tools as a youth. Now that I’ve experienced how rewarding it is to make things with my hands, I want to help as many people as possible experience that same joy. My mission is simple: to help as many people as possible unlock the joy of making, building, and creating in their own workshops. Seeing students grow in skill and confidence reminds me that everyone truly can create something meaningful with the right guidance.
